GP-95 READY MIXED JOINT COMPOUND: PRODUCT OVERVIEW
GP-95 Ready Mixed Joint Compound can be applied manually (float, roller) or by airless sprayer. For finishing works in rooms with standard humidity (including residential spaces like bathrooms and kitchens) and gypsum plasterboard joints with use of bonding tape.
Composition: Finely ground dolomite powder, aqueous polymer dispersion, preservatives and additives improving the properties and the application.
WORKING WITH GP-95 READY MIXED JOINT COMPOUND
Subsurface
The surface should be dry and stable, all loose layers or old coats of paint
should be removed to obtain an uniform structure. In case of large irregularities, we recommend prior application of gypsum filler. The surface should be primed with EKO-MAS primer emulsion. After priming, allow the surface to dry.
Can be applied on: plasterboards, concrete, cellular concrete, calcium-silicate bricks, cement plaster, cement-lime plaster, gypsum plaster, etc.
Do not apply on: plastic, glass, metals or deformable surfaces. Do not use in commercial premises exposed to permanent moisture.
Manual application
After opening, slightly mix the compound. Apply with a steel float or roller up to 3 mm thick at a time. If a second coat is applied, remember that the first one must be well dried. By manual application the compound can be slightly diluted (by adding max. 1% of water).
After the surface is completely dry, it should be ground with a mesh or sandpaper. Manual or mechanical sanding is possible. After treatment, the effect of a snow-white, smooth wall is achieved. The compound provides a perfect layer for wallpapering and painting with all kinds of decorative paints.
Application by airless sprayer
The compound may be applied by airless sprayer – it should then be diluted by adding approx. 0.2 l of water per each 10 kg of compound. For larger uses, we recommend using EKO-MAS HD-97 ready mix prepared especially for airless spraying.
Plasterboard jointing with the bonding tap
By plasterboard jointing apply the compound in the space between the plasterboard tiles, press the tape in, cover the surface of the tape with a thin layer of compound and allow to dry. Then apply another layer of compound, which should be wider than the first one.
